Bride's Veil and Dragon's Garden

Introduction

On this trip, we will visit the City of Cluj-Napoca and its nearby natural wonders.

​

Bride's Veil, also known as Waterfall Răchițele, is situated in Cluj County and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Romania, with a drop of 30 meters.  It is located at an altitude of 1000 m and its name comes from the shape the water takes when falling. However, it also created a legend that tells how a bride fall down from the rocks where the waterfall is formed and her veil remained hanging. Her beloved ones gathered where this tragedy happened and started crying, which determined the formation of this wonderful waterfall. The waterfall can be visited in summer time and also in winter time, when the rocky walls are frozen and create a fairytale white image.

Dragon's Garden

Rock of the Szeklers - 1129 m high

Dragon's Garden is a natural protected area, with a surface of 3 hectares., unique in Romania, but also in Europe. The main attraction are the tall formations of rocks, which have the shape of mushrooms or towers. The shapes of the rocks have been sculpted throughout the time by the wind, rain and snow. Those kind of shapes, being located in Transylvania, naturally gave birth to quite a few legendes. On of the stories tells us about a group of dragons, which lived in the area. One day, one of them decided to steal the sun, being convinced everything on earth is meant for them. One of the young and brave inhabitants confronted the dragon to take back the sun to where it belonged. The brave man decided to confront the dragon in battle and won, took the sun and threw it back on the sky, for all the people in the world to enjoy its light. After he won, he went back to find the other dragons who had stolen the other inhabitants' young girls. Blinded and disoriented by the sun's reappearence, the dragons fall to the ground and one of the young girls put a spell on them, turning them into stones.

The Trascău Mountains are located in the Counties of Cluj and Alba Iulia. The highest peak is Dâmbău, of 1369 m high. The mountains are a big touristic attraction; the most visited places are the Turda Gorge, the Rock of the Szeklers and the Trascău Fangs. The village of Rîmetea is located in the nearby and has an interesting architecture, characterized by the white houses with green wood work around the windows.

We offer

• Guided tours of the most important attractions in the area. The guide has a degree in History. The main language is English, but we can also offer guided tours in Italian.

• Transportation in the city and surroundings will be made by us, with our mini van.

• Transportation from airport to hotel and from hotel the airport, with a mini van (maximum of 8 people).

• We take care of all the planning, ticket buying and itinerary for the whole trip.

• We can take care of the hotel room bookings.

The price of the trip - our prices range from 25 euros/trip and up, depending on the itinerary agreed. The prices include transportation with a minivan 8+1, as well as all costs related to transportation (gasoline, parking charges, road taxes).

• 90 euros for a group of max. 8 people - hotel pick-up (with our minivan 8+1); transportation to and from Dragon's Garden; the trip + guided tour will be of about 6-8 hours.

• 120 euros for a group of max. 8 people - hotel pick-up (with our minivan 8+1); transportation to the Bride's Veil Waterfall and a walk into the Natural Park Apuseni; the trip + guided tour will be of about 6-8 hours.

• 140 euros for a group of max. 8 people - hotel pick-up (with our minivan 8+1); transportation to and from Piatra Secuiului (Rock of the Szecklers) and the Trascău Fortress; the trip + guided tour will be of about 10-12 hours.
